Snowed In

3 days of NO school.

The natives are getting restless.

Here’s a shot as the ice changed over to snow.

icestorm_0118As the snow started sprinkling down, we were jumping with excitement and hopeful that we’d get enough to build a snowman or at least a snow angel or two.

I think 8 inches qualifies as “enough”.

On Friday, it was still snowing…and snowing and snowing.  It was nearly close to blizzard conditions for these parts (or, at least, the boys and I thought so).  It was difficult to see in front of you and if you tried, your eyelashes would freeze.  We figured out really quickly it was better to keep your head down.  However, it didn’t stop us from heading outside to bask in the glory of those soft, fuzzy flakes.

My lens kept fogging over and the plastic (Crockpot bag) I had draped over the top kept getting blown across the front by the wind, but I was determined.  It’s not everyday you see 8 inches of snow in Oklahoma.

After much begging and pleading, the boys were able to get Daddy outside in the snow, too.  Things went downhill from there.  HA!

icestorm_0236icestorm_0242icestorm_0256Wes baled early on when he realized how much snow he’d have to eat by being the front person in our make-shift sled.  Heh heh…

Ty hung in there for a while after…

and then…

he’d had enough.

icestorm_0294Poor kid.

Don’t worry, we went in for hot chocolate immediately.

AND back out again on Saturday.  More photos coming…

Happy Monday!
