You see where I’m going with this…

Plus, this is a brand new family and I really didn’t want to rush things.  You guys know, your first session always tends to take a little longer… time for the kids to warm up a little,  time for the parents to loosen up a little.  Yadda yadda….

I was so surprised when they piled out of the car and EVERYONE was smiling, even Dad.  YAY!  In fact, Dad was so good-natured about the whole thing, I seriously wanted to give him a big HUG!  :)

We finished our session by 7:30pm IN ARCADIA.

Even I would’ve been a little stressed, but he didn’t blink an eye.  I’m so thankful for such a sweet and happy and interactive family.  I love my job.

We decided to try an urban location this time and I’m glad we did.  The tracks were such a great background for big brother and his music.  We even found a patch of grass and had little brother throw a few baseballs for us!

I also love that they are forcing me to update this old blog here.  Ha.  I’d say it’s been a while since I visited here and I’m guessing many of you haven’t been here in a while, either.  I’m hoping to do better.  There have been lots of changes going on at the Gurney household this past year.

I’m not making excuses…uh huh um….but I’m excited to share some of the goings-on with all of you.  :)

For now, this little tidbit from my session with the Wyatts will have to hold you over.

Mom and Dad weren’t supposed to be in the photos this time around.  However, I talked them into jumping in a few shots at the very end of our session.  They even matched perfectly!  It was super duper windy, yet we made it work and just look how great it turned out!

I’ve been having so much fun shooting country-style sessions!  It seems like this past year everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, has wanted an urban shoot in downtown OKC.  So, when this family called me to shoot something closer to home, I immediately thought about this country location.  It’s my new favorite place, and not just for photography reasons.  It is so peaceful there (when there aren’t a million other photographers ;) ).  I could spend hours just hanging out…

The day I met up with this bunch, it was chilly.  Sunny and beautiful, but also windy and CHILLY.  Our teeth were chattering any time we were in the shade.  BUT, somehow, we made do and look how awesome these photos turned out.  It helps that this family is so awesome, too!  Girls (Meme was there, too), it was so good to see you after so long!!

I couldn’t decide if I liked this one in color or b/w better.  What do you guys think?

However, it’s nice having a reason to update this old blog once in a while!  I have so many families to post here from the past couple of months – I’m planning to make a list and start checking off the names!  Really.

For now, I’ll just post a tiny peek for the Wyatt family.  I adore this family and the easy-going, comfortable way our sessions progress each year.  I hope they keep coming back year after year.  I’d miss them if they didn’t.  :)
