She’s beautiful, inside and out.

Rachel and her mom drove all the way from Byng, Oklahoma to hang out with me last week.  I’m so glad they went to all that trouble, too.  Because, Rachel’s session is going on my TOP 10 list of favorite sessions to date.  I had so much fun!  Plus, talk about an EASY session.

Most of you know I’m 9 months pregnant.  In fact, I have exactly 7 days before baby Gurney joins our crew.  I’m taking this last week off from shooting to catch up on editing and to relax a bit.  But, I’ll tell ya, if all my sessions were as easy as Rachel’s, I’d be shooting THIS week.  It was a breeze…even at 9 months pregnant!

Ashley will be graduating this year.  She’s pretty awesome.  Just ask Wes.  He happens to think she’s WONDERFUL.

You see, Ashley helped out a lot with Ty’s t-ball team this past summer.  Her mom was one of our coaches, which meant she got to attend most of our games.  We usually put her right to work.    BUT, the funny thing was the relationship she developed with Wes.  It all started with the sharing of a few popcorn kernels.  Heh…heh…

Yep.  That’s the way to Wes’ heart, already.  FOOD.

At any rate, we all came to love Ashley.  AND, we’re so proud of her and all that she’s accomplished.  This is HER year.

This next one is proof that I’m a little nuts when it comes to taking photos.  Here is Destiny’s reaction to something I was asking her to do…

And, I can’t say goodbye without sharing a picture of her with her gorgeous momma.  Now, you know where she gets her good looks…

I figured Caleb was probably musically inclined, too.  Right?  Well, it’s true.  They are both AWESOME!

BUT, Caleb plays the drums.  Apparently, he didn’t think it was important to lug his drums around with him during senior portraits….

I told him he’d pay for it. 

Seriously, though.  Caleb was great!  I LOVE his mom and he was just as cool.  The kid doesn’t take a bad photo.  I mean it.  NOT ONE.

AND, is it just me, or does anyone else see a little Matt Damon in him?  I think it’s the mouth and believe it or not, even his quirky mannerisms matched up.  I guess that makes up for no drums, right.

I had to get a few of him with his mom, but this one completely stuck out when I was sorting through them all.  I love this shot!

Happy Monday!

I had a great time with Ashley and her family.  They decided to make the trek out to the Gurney house for her senior pics, which was perfect for her.  You’d have thought this gal spent her whole life in the country.  I won’t tell anyone any different either!

We had a good time anyway.  She jumped in the van with me and off we went traipsing through alleyways and old buildings.  It was great!  AND, check out how awesome she looks!  VA-VA-Voom!

Chris is from Ada.  He plays the trumpet, laughs a WHOLE LOT, and is a pretty cool guy to hang out with.  I had a ton of fun snapping senior pics for him.  Between his mom, his sister, his grandma and me, we tortured him quite a bit.  Through it all, though, he was a great sport!

Here are my favorites from his senior session in Shawnee.

She drove the long way to meet up with me ALL BY HERSELF…and didn’t get lost.  She’s quiet, but in a good way.  She loves her mom (it seeped out and into our conversations).  She’s thrifty and quirky, and she’s genuine.  I liked her immediately.  I like that she had a really hard time showing me a serious face.  She had us both giggling just trying it out.  I also loved that she was a tiny bit camera shy.  As soon as I’d point the camera at her, she’d start to get a little embarrassed.  BUT, she was real.  I like real.  Who doesn’t?

I think Rachel will do great things in the future.  She’ll be doing something she loves.  She’ll be helping others.  I can totally see it.  It’s who she is and who she’ll be become.

The last time I met Emily, she was tagging along to her sister’s senior photos.  Now, it’s her turn!  We had just as much fun this time as we did then, maybe even more.  There was no rain this time around.  It was all sunshine. We walked along the river downtown enjoying the gorgeous weather, soaking up some rays, and giggling…lots of giggling.  The best part:  it was just us girls.  Emily did a few quick changes behind fences, us, and a trash can or two… she was a total sport!  We only teased her a little and it didn’t really matter, because this girl rocked her senior pictures!  She looks spectacular!

We did have to fight the wind a tiny bit, but it only made Emily look better!

It’s funny, but when I’m doing senior sessions, it can be a lot of fun when the senior brings a buddy with them.  It tends to lighten the mood and always gets us laughing at some point.  Plus, it helps loosen things up a bit in the beginning.  I totally recommend doing a two-for-one senior session (details on the pricing page) or just bringing a friend with you for your photos.  Just a suggestion…
