Meet Carter.

I met up with Carter and Finley at their house in Edmond.  Little Carter, who I hear loves to sleep, decided to stay awake for nearly our ENTIRE session.  In fact, I got to hang out with his family for nearly three hours in hopes of catching some sleepy baby shots.  This was the closest we got.  You almost can’t tell he’s awake, can you?  HA!

Either way, he’s a complete doll!  Just ask Finley!

Speaking of Finley, she’s pretty adorable herself.  She ran from one end of their house to the other giggling the entire time.  The best part was she spent some of that time running straight to me for BIG hugs!

I love me some HUGS!  I can’t wait to visit again.  Maybe I can talk her out of some more…

AND, of course, I had to end the session with a family shot in the backyard.  Thanks for a great time, you guys!

This little guy is usually the picture of pure happiness and giggles, but this time he was not havin’ it with the whole “picture-taking” experience.  I’m pretty sure a day spent at White Water (our local water park) completely wore him out.  He was even falling asleep during cake time.  HA! 

Still, he offered up a few smiles for me.  AND…

he’s darn cute even when he’s unhappy!

Here are my favorites!

The Hilgenfelds are one of my favorite repeat clients.  They just keep hanging around wanting more pictures of their crazy bunch of rugrats!  I love them all!

Usually, they meet up with me in Oklahoma City somewhere for our session.  This time around we wanted to meet a little closer to their hometown of Chandler to get some fun shots.  Luckily, one of my favorite spots is about halfway between us both.  It worked out perfectly.

It was a great time for them to schedule a session since the smallest member of their family is turning ONE and her big brother just had a birthday, too.  I’ll be seeing the “middle child” again soon for her four year pics, I’m sure.

I mean, really.  Who could resist a smile this cute?

I didn’t even have to work hard to get that grin, either.  She was willing to share it…just because.    That makes me happy!

When India’s mama stuck this big hat on her head, she twisted around for the longest time trying to catch a glimpse of all of us watching.  She never could get that silly hat above her eyes enough to see out.  Then, all of a sudden, we caught sight of her grin.  What a cutie!

I told you she was all smiles.

I loved her and her family.  I even got to pick on Dad a tiny bit – he took it like a champ!

It wouldn’t be a first birthday session without a little cake.  Now, would it?

Then it was clean up time.  It usually takes the entire crew to wipe a baby clean after a cake smash.  This time was no different, and while I was helping out I happened to catch sight of this moment with India and her mama.  India was worn smooth out.

I can’t complete this sneak peek of India and her family without including the wonderful friends that referred them to me.  They are some of my VERY favorite clients.  Therefore, I was able to boss them around a bit and sneak them in a few shots.

AND…here’s a couple of India and Olivia.  I plan to see Olivia in October when she’ll be turning three!

It’s been a while since I’ve seen them, and they have grown a TON!  I couldn’t believe how tall Jake had gotten.  Such a big guy – he reminds me of Ty in that way….growing like a weed. 

AND, he’s got the best expressions!  I nearly had to beg him to sit still for 5 minutes, but when he finally did, I got to see all kinds of funny faces.  It was priceless!

I think he’s training his brother well, too, because guess who’s making silly faces himself…

I think Mom’s got her hands full with these two.  BUT, the great part is they seem to be the best of buds, laughing at each other, playing well together, and lots of tickles…

Hear no evil, see no evil?  Not me.

They were perfect little angels the entire time.  Seriously.  No, really.

We had a great time during our session.  Mom even brought some bubbles to play with – the wind made it interesting, but we were able to hide for a few minutes…the bubbles were swirling.  It was a blast!

Thanks for all the fun, boys (and Mom).  I can’t wait to see how much they grow before next time!

I met up with this crew in Midtown on a Monday morning.

AND, it just happened to be a CHILLY Monday morning.  We considered rescheduling, but decided to tough it out in hopes of getting some sunshine.  I felt so bad after we got there.  The alleys were so breezy and cold, but the Conway boys were troopers.  I can’t tell in even one of these photos that they were absolutely FREEZING to death!  No, really.  I mean they were flat cold…

and yet, they smiled for me anyway.  God love ‘em.

Even Mom showed me a grin or two.

It must have been my CHARMING personality.  Yep, that’s it.

Since Dad couldn’t be there to freeze along with us in the cold, Midtown alleys, this photo is JUST FOR HIM!

Our session started off a bit shaky since Sam had a bit of a spill on the gravel when they arrived.  But, he recovered well with a band-aid from Mom and a few bites of left-over Easter candy I had stashed in the car.  That was all it took to bring out the smiles – that and lots of peek-a-boos.

All of a sudden, Sam was a total HAM!

I’m pretty sure this was our best session yet.  Although, I must admit he did some funny stuff during our session a few months back.  This time they left Daddy at home (thank goodness!).  Daddy tends to instigate lots of crazy behavior from his little man.  BUT, I must say this…

with Dad being home, I noticed lots of his craziness coming out in Sambo anyway!  What’s up with that?  He’s more and more like Daddy every day!

He had so much fun with all the rocks, bugs, sticks, and leftover gum (YUCK!) we found.  It was hilarious!

Sam’s mama is gonna love all the great shots we got – I think she’ll get a kick out of all the silly faces and character that shows through in the photos.  For now, she’ll have to live with this tiny sneak peek. 

This time around I drove out to Chandler, Oklahoma to get some shots in the home they’ve been remodeling.  I have to admit, I was pretty excited about traveling somewhere a bit different than normal.  It was so refreshing.  After shooting at their home for a while, we decided to head downtown to get a few shots of the coolness that is Chandler.   If you’ve never been there, you should go sometime.  It really is a hidden gem out there in Eastern Oklahoma.  We found the coolest spot to shoot – full of character and lots of neat backdrops.

Apparently, this is what a normal day looks like around their household – lots of coloring.  It’s such a quiet pastime.  I wish I could convince my boys to do it more….

I loved that truck!  It was super cool – I only wish it was closer this direction.  I guess I’ll be traveling to Chandler for more sessions!

We had so much fun shooting along the river downtown.  Luckily, after rescheduling more than once, we were able to sneak in our session before the storm hit this week.  The wind was a bit harsh as the clouds were moving in, but we had fun anyway!

Jonathan is at the best age.  He’s crawling and pulling up on everything, but not so fast we can’t catch him for a few photos!  PERFECT!  Plus, the kid never quits smiling!

Now, they think it’s an awesome reason to beat your parents and grandparents about the face and head with light saber pool noodles.  Thanks for that, Tiffany.  My head loves you.

Yes, even Darth Vader made an appearance.  My youngest boy thought it was spectacular (even though he wasn’t sure who the heck it was), while my oldest ran for cover and didn’t come out until Darth was gone.  Poor Darth never got the chance to meet Ty.  How sad…

Wes’ favorite part of the entire party was the Darth Vader pinata.  He was even given the chance to pull a string FIRST (thinking it’d be nice to let a little guy go ahead of all the other big boys).  The only problem was he happened to pick JUST THE RIGHT STRING….

oh boy.

That’s never good.

We had to keep that thing in tact until the birthday boy had a chance.  Thank goodness it lasted.  Whew!

Ty refused to wear what he called a “Yoda” outfit.  He’s way too cool for that.  He did enjoy the party tremendously and is now really into the whole “Star Wars” thing.  Plus, it only took him about 30 minutes or so to warm up after arriving….nice.

For the record, Joe Cool was beating people with his light saber within the first 3 minutes….

Some things will never change.

Note:  these pics were taken in the light of a really horrid, dark gym and no matter what I tried (including a custom white balance gray card) the color turned out wonky.  We’ll talk about white balance at our SnapShot Moms workshop on April 10th.
