Ringing in 2010

Happy New Year!!!!

As promised, we rang in the new year wearing our sweatpants, eating lots of delicious finger food (I went on a baking frenzy thanks to Pioneer Woman and Kraft), and hanging with family and friends.  It was a laid-back, chilled-out, perfectly imperfect New Year’s Eve.  I loved every minute of it (except trying...

January 2, 2010 - 9:54 am Megan - Looks like fun! Happy New Year!

Goddard Family ‘09

I love getting to photograph the Goddard Family.  They are really close friends of mine, and because I know them so well, I get to boss them around.  HA!  It’s true, though.  It’s much easier to “boss” a large group around for pictures when you know them well.  It’s probably a good thing, too, because...

November 24, 2009 - 12:27 pm Ashley - Is it just me or did they sprout an extra family member in the last picture?

Makai and Malia

I had so much fun getting to photograph these two spunky kiddos.
The crazy part is how I’ve been wanting to meet their gorgeous momma for about 3 years now.  A mutual friend of ours introduced us by way of the internet and we’ve been chatting ever since.  You see, Leila loves photography almost as much...

October 26, 2009 - 12:34 am Leila - You crazy chick! I didn't know you even put these on your blog! Of course I LOVE LOVE LOVE them and I show a different person every day. I couldn't narrow down my favorites either - because every single one is beautiful! And of course I gotta have a few Facebook profile pics and proof that the kids did have a mommy, since I'm usually behind the camera. You never have to twist a pageant girl's arm to take a picture. LOL. Thank you again so much for squeezing us into your super busy schedule. You rock! And your baby boy did not do much help for warding off my baby fever...he's precious. :)

October 26, 2009 - 12:36 am Leila - Oh and BTW - if I HAD to pick favorites - the one of Makai squatting down (you can see his lego watch) captures his genuine smile SO perfectly (I can't even do that) and the bright one of Malia in the hat and jacket - to die for! xoxo

Weekend Warriors

As most of you know, I’ve been out of town since Thursday.  I took a much needed couple of days and headed South with my mom, my boys, and my buddy, Karri.  Not to worry, I also took the iMac with me and actually finished a couple of sessions along with a sneak peek or...

October 4, 2009 - 8:11 am MelodyA. - We have Canton on our list of to-gos. We just came back from Roundtop this weekend though. Have you made it there yet? We had so much fun.

A Little More Fun

If you’re tired of hearing about our lake weekend, turn away from the computer now.  I have so many photos to share and not just for you guys, but for my family, too.  They are waiting anxiously for lake photos and I’ve never been one to say no.
While at the lake, we spent a LOT...

August 17, 2009 - 9:52 pm Stephanie - I think I now this guy! In fact, I think I used to work w/ him for a short period of time. Is he a computer guy? If it's the same guy (really, how many Barney's do you know) I worked w/ him at Hogan Information in '01! Weird!

Blues

There’s a lot of blue going around these days.  Blue skies…blue water…
and…
back to SCHOOL blues.
especially for this momma…
whose little boy will be starting Pre-K in exactly two short weeks.  My heart is heavy.  I know he’ll love it, but will I?
Lately, we’re I’m trying to keep my mind off of school-related thoughts by spending LOTS...

Great Wolf Lodge

The boys and I recently returned home from an overnight trip South to Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine, Texas.  We were pretty pumped because we’d heard how fun the place was from many of our friends.  Josh was already out of town on business and we I was bored.  That always leads to trouble, doesn’t...

July 3, 2009 - 5:15 pm Neil M. - I love these, they are all so perfect. Wonderful stories told in each one. Great expressions. Hope you and your family had a great time.

July 4, 2009 - 3:13 pm Lydia - Looks likes you had fun...we've been three times so far! HA! i agree with you though, that you can't really enjoy all the slides unless you're probably 48 inches tall. They had a camera in the big blue slide taking pictures...we went down twenty+ times and got all the pics on a flash drive. The rates get cheaper too...we go in the cooler months(nov.-march). its better then because what else are you gonna do while you're waiting for summer? glad you guys went.

July 13, 2009 - 9:14 am Joann - I love these pictures!

Celebrate! Britney turns 9!

Today, we (my family and I) threw a surprise party for my niece, Britney.  She turned 9 years old today.
It was pretty funny, too.  You know embarrassed kids can get when everyone’s watching and something unexpected happens.  Well, this fit the bill for sure.  She walked around the corner of the house and saw us...

Wild Animal Party

Do you guys remember Bella?
Bella is a good buddy of Ty’s and has graced the pages of this blog more than once.  Her mom is a good friend of mine.  We’re lucky, too, because they’re pretty cool friends to have!  They even let us tag along on a super neat trip to Mexico!
This time, though,...

Rhea Family

Any of you miss me out there?
It’s been a while since my last confession…erh…I mean…last post….
I’ve had quite a bit going on around these here part.  First, I had to have oral surgery – sounds lovely doesn’t it.  Nothing spectacular, but surgery all the same.  I really hate being put to sleep – actually suggested...
