All you ladies out there who keep calling me with baby news, BACK OFF, will ya!  What exactly are you trying to do to me anyway?

I mean, really, just look at this little guy (as if I need another boy around this house).  Parker belongs to a boy (now a man) I taught back in the 6th grade.  Now, Parker’s daddy is all grown up and I get to be the lucky photographer taking his son’s photos.  Wow!  I guess that means I’m old, but it’s totally worth it.  Who else gets to snuggle with these little beings on a regular basis….

I got to spend a couple of hours with Parker and really didn’t want to leave.  Luckily, I get to look at all these cute shots of him for as long as I want.  Here are my favorites from our day together.

Meet Carter.

I met up with Carter and Finley at their house in Edmond.  Little Carter, who I hear loves to sleep, decided to stay awake for nearly our ENTIRE session.  In fact, I got to hang out with his family for nearly three hours in hopes of catching some sleepy baby shots.  This was the closest we got.  You almost can’t tell he’s awake, can you?  HA!

Either way, he’s a complete doll!  Just ask Finley!

Speaking of Finley, she’s pretty adorable herself.  She ran from one end of their house to the other giggling the entire time.  The best part was she spent some of that time running straight to me for BIG hugs!

I love me some HUGS!  I can’t wait to visit again.  Maybe I can talk her out of some more…

AND, of course, I had to end the session with a family shot in the backyard.  Thanks for a great time, you guys!

This little guy is usually the picture of pure happiness and giggles, but this time he was not havin’ it with the whole “picture-taking” experience.  I’m pretty sure a day spent at White Water (our local water park) completely wore him out.  He was even falling asleep during cake time.  HA! 

Still, he offered up a few smiles for me.  AND…

he’s darn cute even when he’s unhappy!

Here are my favorites!

Since the last time I saw her, she has totally blossomed into the cutest, most adorable, chubby legged baby on the planet.  AND, she’s the spittin’ image of her daddy.  Crazy, isn’t it? 

I met up with her family of three in Harrah for a quick park session in the 100 degree heat.  McKenlyn smiled and smiled…

then she decided it was too hot to smile.  HA!  None of us blamed her, though, since we all agreed.

We were able to snap a whole bunch of happy shots before the sweat started dripping down our backs.  I guess if we were going to suffer in the HOT sun, it might as well be because we were hanging with this little gal.  She had us all smiling and laughing.  I can’t wait to hang out with her again sometime soon.

I didn’t even have to work hard to get that grin, either.  She was willing to share it…just because.    That makes me happy!

When India’s mama stuck this big hat on her head, she twisted around for the longest time trying to catch a glimpse of all of us watching.  She never could get that silly hat above her eyes enough to see out.  Then, all of a sudden, we caught sight of her grin.  What a cutie!

I told you she was all smiles.

I loved her and her family.  I even got to pick on Dad a tiny bit – he took it like a champ!

It wouldn’t be a first birthday session without a little cake.  Now, would it?

Then it was clean up time.  It usually takes the entire crew to wipe a baby clean after a cake smash.  This time was no different, and while I was helping out I happened to catch sight of this moment with India and her mama.  India was worn smooth out.

I can’t complete this sneak peek of India and her family without including the wonderful friends that referred them to me.  They are some of my VERY favorite clients.  Therefore, I was able to boss them around a bit and sneak them in a few shots.

AND…here’s a couple of India and Olivia.  I plan to see Olivia in October when she’ll be turning three!

Little miss India says so.

I know her parents won’t believe how many good shots we got, but we did!  Blaklei was smiling from the second I met her.  Then she started moving….

Whew!  I’m pretty sure she wore her mom and dad out.  I kept asking them to grab her and drag her back so she could run at me again and again.  I wasn’t sure how else we’d actually catch any shots of her!  The girl can move!

Just look at her grin, though.  She was one happy camper.

Her mama and daddy were just as much fun, too.  I loved them both and their awesome attitudes.  They did such a great job helping me keep Blaklei entertained and happy and even came up with some ideas of their own.

I love this shot of their tickle fight.  She was cracking up so hard that it made the rest of us howl with laughter, too.

And I’ll finish up with a couple of Blaklei in her birthday outfit.  She’s so stinkin’ cute, isn’t she!

and what better place to do that than the Gurney household.

Poor Landon had to contend with barking pups, John Deere gators racing circles around him, loud tractors, chainsaws, burning brush, and much more.  BUT, he was a trooper.  I think he might want to come live with us….  heh heh…

The poor little fella doesn’t even own a John Deere.  I almost feel the need to take up a collection – every little boy should own a John Deere.  What is his mama thinking? 

I thought it’d be fun to grab some of Wes’ favorite tractors in an effort to entice the sweet, little man.  I figured if I could get him hooked, his mom would have to give in.  I think it worked.  Once the green and yellow tractors made their appearance, we could barely get Landon to look our way.  [for the record, that's our house-pad he's playing on - pretty cool, huh]

Landon loved the yellow flowers scattered around our place…

he’d rather eat them than smell them, though.  It made him really happy!

Then, we moved on to the leaves.  Yes, we still have TONS of leaves around here.  It made the perfect playground for a 9 month old little guy…

at least, we thought.  Landon wasn’t so sure.

All in all, the Gurney spot was the perfect location for such a sweet, little man.  I can’t wait for him to come visit us again!

Of course, we couldn’t stop shooting without a photo of Landon and his mama.

She’s the newest addition to one of my favorite families, and she’s perfect in every way – 10 fingers, 10 toes.

I’m pretty sure she’ll be spoiled before the week is up…but that’s just speculation.

I spent three hours getting to know this little gal, and she spent three hours getting to know me.  I guess she figured if someone new was going to be there, she might as well be awake for the event.

SO SHE WAS….

the ENTIRE time.

Apparently, she loves to sleep.  BUT, not this time.  There was WAY too much activity to miss!

Don’t let these pictures fool you.  She only shut those pretty little eyes to keep the bright sun out.  Before you know it, she’ll have them wide-open again.

Hi there, gorgeous.

We figured if she’s was gonna be awake, we might as well squeeze in some family pics, too.

I’d say that’s one lucky little gal….rounding out a perfect family.

By this time, she was SO sleepy, but was really fighting it.  The yawns were coming fast…

I think this one’s my favorite.  It pretty much sums up our time together…her trying to stay awake while we tried to get her to sleep.  funny.

Finally, toward the end, she’d doze off for a few seconds at a time.  AND THEN, pop those eyes right back open again!

I’d say this finished out a SPECTACULAR weekend for me.  Stay tuned.  I’ll be posting more about that soon.

During our session, we had old brick, leaves, lots of color, and plenty of balloons to help capture his personality.  Kale was a real trooper, too.  He was all grins and giggles the entire time.  I’m not sure I heard him fuss at all.
